    Jarvis West

There were many heroes Friday night, but do we win the game without Jarvis West? His 50-yard return was a thing of beauty.

And did you guys see the cut he made after one of his receptions? Unfortunately he was already surrounded when he did it, but he can change direction on a dime.

It is going to be fun having this guy for three more years!

And a shout out to Jansen Watson who made a big hit on the onside kick, clearing the way for Reeves' recovery. I met Jansen at the Orlando airport last Thanksgiving, he's a class guy and proud to be a Cyclone!

West was a game changer, he's beyond quick. However on his 50yrd return I swear he had the corner but then tried to cut it back and got hit from behind, not critizing, just thought he was taking it to the house! Huge return nonetheless.

West's quickness was very impressive. Hope he competes for starting return duties. He always seems to make the first man miss.

He needs the ball more, he is our best player in the open field.

West is going to be a good one. 3 more years of him. Perfect example of why the bowl game is big, guy like that can really make some progress with another month of practice.

West is very quick and explosive. He lacks top speed. He will develop some of that as he gets older. Just a freshman remember!

I'm a Marion Barber fan and I think Jarvis has a similar style. Love JW.

    Re: Jarvis West

West needs more touches. The guy is quick as a cat. On his KR, it looked like the OSU guy had the angle and West looked for a quick cutback hoping to breakout the other way. He might have gained a few more yards if he kept going the way he was. But he was looking to break it.

Similar hairstyle, maybe. How else are they similar?

I thought the same thing and questioned if he could pull away from people

YAK in a violent way. It seems to me that once they get hit they both sort of rear up and high step sort of like they both want to "step on" what's in front of them. Does that opinion work for you, pro?

Not sure I see the comparison either. Marion Barber runs over people, Jarvis runs into them, bounces off them, and runs around them. Not to mention Marion Barber is 5'11" 220 pounds and Jarvis is listed at 5'7" 164 pounds.

I'm not aware of the quality of the Iowa st track program, but too bad we couldn't get a handful of our wide receivers to join the team in the spring. These guys could use some pure speed work they won't get when they are running at practice.

It can make a huge difference.

    Re: Jarvis West

Agree on West. In fact, the more you think about it, the more players you could list. There were stars all over the field for Iowa State, and if one of those kids doesn't come to play like they did, it's a different outcome. Amazing, amazing game.
