    Offense with Barnett starting

In Jared Barnett's three starts at QB, the Cyclone offense is averaging 502 yards per game. In the seven previous games, we averaged just under 371 yards per game. That is a difference of 131 yards. Part of that is the quality of the defenses we've faced, but it's easy to see that the offense is moving in the right direction.

This is the offense we expected to see when Herman was hired. As more of his recruits develop and get on the field, the offense will become more consistent and more explosive. Commitment to a system + solid recruiting/development = positive results.

Great points. Also, Barnett's leadership/composure is also another huge thing that helps him. Nothing gets to this kid at all. He also seems to learn a lot from his mistakes. These are all characteristics of the mythical "IT"-factor. He gets stuff done.

I love that he's just so ELUSIVE. Did he even get sacked once against OSU? So many years watching other quarterbacks our defense just couldn't get to. It's great to enjoy the flipped coin.

No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine.

He is surely something special. Except when he got his 2 shots for a game winning drive in regulation...it was clear how freeking nervous he was. I would have done the same thing, but he was way off and it nearly cost him a fantastic game. Hopefulyl now that he has the huge win under his belt he will be able to get past that next time. I love having him as our QB!

The play where he bounced around in all that pressure and ended up flicking it out for a first down pass was incredible. The pass to Woody maybe?

I don't think he's as good as Wallace (at least not yet), but he's playing in the system more like Wallace should have been playing in. Obviously Seneca has proven he can play a pro set offense at an elite level, but imagine what he could have done in this offense for us.

ISU fans would have to be crazy not to be excited about our freshman QB (and even his freshman center).

    Re: Offense with Barnett starting

I recall one game in between 2 good offensive games where people were calling for heads for anyone related to the offense... coaches, players, systems, etc. I think Barnett is going to be great... that it takes time to create consistency, just saying...
