    JTS envy from Memphis

Still keeping the good feeling from Friday night by surfing the web. Came across this.

Also want to state that I thought before the season that the video board might have been an overkill. That baby has paid for itself already. The power of that sound system to pump up crowd/team is awesome.

    RE: Better than Iowa State?

I found myself wondering how in the world is the University of Memphis so far behind a university from Ames, IA. No insult intended, but Iowa for crying out loud?

Did you see that stadium? That video board? The fans? That environment? Wow ...

Take a quick peak at Wiki's page for the Iowa State stadium - incredible. And the future plans are right there, spelled out.

The UofM will never achieve this ... never. There is no one associated with the leadership of the university with the vision to achieve such things. I hate to be pessimistic, but I just don't see it.
All of that has been done while Iowa Sate fed off the teat of OU, TX, and the reset of the Big XII. Baylor is the same way. THe BCS money makes a huge difference. We should be doing everything possible to get a share of that pie.

Winning on the National stage was huge but the crowd and environment on HD ESPN was big as well. It really showed what ISU fans are all about.

The crap school now know as the Univ. of Memphis has been behind Iowa State in everything --- except dirty basketball --- since the beginning of time. Memphis is an absolute **** hole of a city and that "university" is about as academically challenging as an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba.

The University of Memphis is behind Iowa State in pretty much everything but crime.

    Re: JTS envy from Memphis

I spent a summer in Memphis several years ago, at the time it didn't seem bad. Like any big city there's places you don't want to go, but there's plenty of nice things too. Beale St. was actually kind of cool, a pretty good bar and blues scene.

But they could not care less about the UM football program. Pretty much MAC level support.

Can we start referring to JTS as "Historic Jack Trice Stadium?"

    Something historic happened there.

Memphis - the guy is delirious if he thinks Iowa is somehow below. He should just be thankful Memphis is the AAA farm club of the World Champion Cardinals.....
