    Re: BCS Standings - 11/20

Interesting to note that the computers have Oklahoma State ranked: 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, and 3 for an average spot at #2. The human polls of 6 and 6 is what brings them down to #4 slot...

If you were to follow only the computers here is your top 10 (by average):

    1) LSU
    2) Oklahoma State
    3) Alabama
    4) Arkansas
    5) Kansas State
    6) Oklahoma
    7) Virginia Tech
    8) Boise State
    9) Stanford
    10) South Carolina

    Re: BCS Standings - 11/20

I figured the voters would hate on ISU.....making OSU drop further. Guess that is sort of a compliment? OU and Oregon losing was huge for Okie St.

Still hoping Big XII makes it into title game. K-state has a good shot at an at-large birth. Gotta knock them out!

The voters are really the ones that really dropped Oklahoma State, the computers on average dropped them one spot to 2 or 3 as most computers have Iowa State as a top 45 or better team (this weeks' Sagarin has Iowa State ranked 20th).

    Re: BCS Standings - 11/20

Computers (the better judges, imo) saying OKSt should still be #2.
They pretty much say the big 12 is being disrespected in general by the human polls:
OSU- poll ranking: 6, computer avg: 2
OU- poll ranking 10\11, computer avg: 6
KSU- poll ranking 15, computer avg: 5
Baylor- poll ranking 20, computer avg: 13
    Texas- unranked, computer avg: 20

    Re: BCS Standings - 11/20

So for B12 to have a shot at the NC we need either LSU or Alabama to lose and OSU to beat OU.

They aren't a close 4 though, but they are #2 in the computer polling. They could look impressive against OU and jump Stanford and Virginia Tech in the subjective polling, but they'd still be behind Bama.

They really need Auburn to beat Bama and then Arkansas lose to LSU. If not, they need Arkansas to slaughter LSU, and then have Alabama (I think they'd be in) get beat by the East champion. That'd be utter chaos.

    They got jobbed.

But we got votes. People are ready and willing to recognize once we do arrive. I like that.

If LSU loses to Arkansas, the Arkansas or Alabama team that doesn't get in the SEC Championship game will still be ahead of Okie State.

Okie State needs the Chiz to beat Bama or the SEC East champion to beat the SEC West champion.

    Re: BCS Standings - 11/20

Here is an interesting way to look at things, the discrepancy between the rank where the BCS standings have the team compared to where the overall average of computer rankings would put them (minus indicates lower, while positive numbers indicate computers have them higher):

    LSU (0.0)
    Alabama (-0.7)
    Arkansas (-1.5)
    Oklahoma (1.7)
    Virginia Tech (-4.7)
    Stanford (-3.3)
    Boise State (-2.0)
    Houston (-4.2)
    Oklahoma (3.0)
    Oregon (-0.8)
    Kansas State (5.3)
    South Carolina (1.5)
    Georgia (-1.7)
    Michigan State (-4.2)
    Michigan (-1.8)
    Wisconsin (-4.5 or more)
    Clemson (-1.2)
    Baylor (5.5)
    Penn State (0.0)

This could show that Virginia Tech, Stanford & Houston along with Michigan State and Wisconsin are being over-rated by the humans while teams like Kansas State & Baylor are being under-rated by the humans.
