    OSU Field Goal

Sorry, but it looked good to me. If you can't call it out, then it must be good

If our kick vs Alabama was good, you have to call this good.

No it wasn't. The whole ball clearly was not inside the upright.

Been there, done that. The rules were stated in another thread, and by rule, it was no good. No one had a better view than the guy standing under the upright.

I agree, so does that mean if part of the ball goes over the imaginary extended post that it must be called out?

The Camera was not under the ball... it was off set. Physics 221 lab will teach you how that perspective would not be right....

WTF? Biggest win against highest ranked football opponent ever ( 0-56-2 against opponents in Top 6 all-time) and you're trying to lose it after the fact. I watched several replays and have no doubt if the goal posts were extended the ball hits the post and goes wide or bounces back.I, for one, will be enjoying this win for a long time. This huge of a win has been a long time in coming.

Yes, the entire ball must pass between the uprights for it to be called good.

    Re: OSU Field Goal

Unless you were standing on the field with stripes looking up at that ball, how can you say that?

Not trying to lose it, just talking about it. I felt we got screwed with the call after the Alabama game, but after this discussion I realized we really lost, but now realize it was a correct call and really won this game. chill dude

    Re: OSU Field Goal

You will notice that the wizards at ESPN only showed one alternate angle outside of the realtime angle they showed on television. I suspect all other angles made it quite clear that the ball was not inside the upright.

By rule, the ball must be outside of the upright to be no good. If the ball is above, it's good. It was directly above.

Ok got it- thanks *between the imaginary extended posts*.

My misunderstanding was if part of the ball sails over the imaginary extended posts you can't judge it as being out,so you must call it good.

But now I can live with the case we really did lose the Alabama bowl game.
