Did the cold weather play a factor?

I always hear about how Texas and OU control the schedule and refuse to play us in Ames in November because of the cold. Did it play a factor last night? I realize our defense played lights out last night, but do you think the chill helped keep a regularly prolific offense a little more tight than they're used to being? I don't mean this to take anything away from our players and coaching staff, as they were all amazing, just curious if there may be any truth to why Texas and OU never play here late.

It really wasn't that cold last night. I doubt it made a big difference in the game. What really helped was the wind staying down.

1000 yards or so of offense? I think not.

That's the thing. It wasn't cold...for you. Put yourself in the shoes of someone from Texas or Oklahoma, though, and it was like a sub-zero wasteland.

Re: Did the cold weather play a factor?

It's often mentioned that unless it's nearing sub-zero or there's winter weather (snow, cold rain, etc), "coldness" doesn't really play a factor. You'd be surprised how warm you are wearing all that gear, even if you're just standing on the sidelines. It was 30-some-odd degrees last night - cold wasn't a factor.

Listen pal . . I lived in Oklahoma for 4 years . . . it gets just as cold there this time of year. So go ahead and argue with me again.

It didn't bother Benton on that interception. :) Seriously, he took a pop and held on.

Didn't think it was too bad and the wind died down. I thought it was actually kind of perfect football weather.

it affected a lot of our recievers catching. I think we win by 21 if we hold on to passes and don't turn it over

That's pretty awesome, buddy! No one said it never gets cold there. But it got to 76 degrees in Stillwater today. Going from that to what they played in last night seems like it could have some kind of shock to the system.

No factor. No worse than Oklahoma gets. The Cyclones were the difference.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

This is what I thought. If anything, it might have been making our WRs drop more balls than usual.
