Eastern Iowa Radio help for tonight

I'm going to a visitation in Dyersville tonight and will be on the road for at least part of the game. What is my best bet for radio coverage for Dyersville and areas west after dark?

    Thanks in advance.

Here is a link to the CRN affiliates, some of whom have coverage maps.

Cyclone Radio Network Affiliates and Coverage Maps - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

Kind of surprising we don't have an affiliate in Dubuque. I doubt you'll be able to get 1600 out of CR at night but that may be the closest affiliate to Dyersville. You could try 860 out of Muscatine. On your way home there's 1650 out of Cedar Falls and 95.9fm out of New Hampton.

I just checked XM, if you have it, and it's on XM91, but it will be the OSU radio feed.

EDIT: If you have Sirius it's on 137, ISU feed.

Thanks Rux. That confirms what I already knew....that ISU radio coverage in NE Iowa is a freakin' joke. I was hoping there was something out of Dubuque. 1650 is strong during the day, but pretty weak at night. Maybe I'll be able to pull that in once we get west of Manchester. Not sure on 1600. 95.9 has about a 45 mile radius...60 tops. Amazingly, when I'm in extreme northeastern Iowa, my only hope is the Fort Dodge am station (540 or 580, can't remember which), but that typically only works during the day. I doubt I can pull that at night.

The Sirius/XM info is helpful. I'm pretty sure the people we're riding with have one of them.

All I can say is good luck. I grew up 20 miles south of Dyserville and basically, you're **** out of luck. The closest radio is 1600 out of CR and that thing can only reach Central City at night.

My suggestion is to find any bar with ESPN.

1600 generally works okay at night once you get south of cascade if you take 151 home from dyersville; if you take 20 to 13 1600 should work once you get to 13.

Yeah...it is a shame. Seems like yesterday we had billboards in CR telling us it was a Cyclone State. Yet can't even get a strong radio signal for this side of the state!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The lack of radio coverage is a disgrace.

If you have an Android, download the Cyclones app and you can listen there. That's the only way I can get games in NE Iowa.

Luckily, I'm going to the game tonight! Go Cyclones!

I remember driving to Madison, WI and seem to remember getting a signal for 100.3 for quite a while. At least past Waterloo, I think.
