    Feels like 1985

Hey, who was there in 1985 when we beat Thurman Thomas and Okie State 15 to 10. They came in with an 8 and 1 record, and well, we weren't very good. There were a lot of snowballs made in the stadium that day, and although we won't have snow tomorroow, we've got something better, a pretty darn good football team. Go 'clones, I'm thinking 31 - 27 good guys.

Very cold day, small crowd. One time where I think the weather was the 12th man. Seemed like most of the fans spent halftime in the bathroom trying to get warm.

Hell, yeah. We have more players dressed than they do. Let's hit them coming off the bus. Use homemade snowballs.

Whose house it is anyway? Do you think Jack Trice would give up. NO. We are going to pound them till the end. We are ready for a big home win. Utah be damned. We are going to show the country that we can play football.

Can we get someone to put Visine in their gatorade? Just in case.

    Re: Feels like 1985

We were one of the few groups tailgating in the North student tailgating parking lot that day. It was so cold we just set the keg on the ground no tub or ice needed. There was a car load of girls driving from tailgate to tailgate getting drinks and food. One of the coldest games I've been too but it was fun. Another top game in 1984 was the Oklahoma night game. I was a freshmen that year and that opened my eyes to college football and all it had to offer. Those were the days when you could bring in a boda with you, no questions asked!

I hope this isn't Texas all over again where I talk myself into thinking we're gonna win and then we blow up...

    Re: Feels like 1985

I find it hard to believe that a team that is starting a freshman QB will have a shot at beating the #2 team in the nation.... I doubt it has ever been done before. I am just looking for a respectable showing and maybe having a shot in late 3rd qtr but damn that whole freshman QB thing for us is the thing that is bothering me on this one...

I really hope to eat crow.

I was there, it was a brutal day. However we did tailgate, because I remember
the beer was so cold, it was slush in the can.

It's a tall order, but I was in Lincoln when Major Applewhite was a fr and knocked off a pretty high rated Nebby squad. Not #2, like 6 or 7 I think. Of course he did have the Heisman trophy winner behind him. But it can be done!

He didn't start the game, but Reggie McNeal came off the bench to beat #1 Oklahoma as a freshman in 2002.

Fun games against Okie State over the years. I was at this game (coldest game I have ever been to) and the infamous tackle from the sidelines game in 1973 with my Dad.

    Re: Feels like 1985

I was there in '85 too.

Remember it was so cold there were ice crystals in the air...not snow because it was sunny just ice floating around.

Guy I was with was too fat to zip up his coat. Sat out thre in a little leather jacket, gut hanging out, no gloves. Impressive.

I was there in 1985. It is hard to believe now that they allowed us to carry in alcohol to the stadium. OSU didn't like the cold and I was glad I had my boda.
