    Parking in Lincoln

Sorry if this already been talked about. I just got my order confirmed on my tickets and will be making my first trip to Lincoln. Just wondering how the parking is down there and any good places to eat?

Parking is tough..ramps mainly. As for eats, lots of places in the haymarket area to choose from and that's pretty close to the stadium.

    Vinzenso's, Lazlos, Mary's Better Burgers.

    Just go to Haymarket.

If you get there by 8:00 park on top of 7 story parking garage on 10th street south of the stadium.

    Re: Parking in Lincoln

There is no parking in Lincoln to speak of. I have been there twice. As Ketelmeister says, park in the ramps or MAYBE a side street and eat/drink downtown. I have found that the big money donors that do park near the stadium to be very friendly and will probably offer you a beer or three if you strike up a conversation.

I have always felt that there are 2 very different types of Husker fans. The very friendly, respectful ones that go to the games (minus a few rude students) and the arrogant, self important bandwagoners that you see watching the games in Omaha bars.

Park just to the Northwest of the baseball stadium... There is a small donor lot just beyond the outfield fence then a large pay lot. The lot was almost all ISU fans a couple of years ago, pretty fun.

I can agree with this sentiment from first-hand experience. Some of us were able to tailgate in that u-shaped lot just east of the stadium two years ago, and all the NU people out there were very friendly.....and as a side note, we went to the NU/CU game (wearing our ISU garb of course) at Nebraska the year we had a shot at the Big 12 north the next day at home, and all the NU fans were saying go Iowa State at the end of the game.

    Re: Parking in Lincoln

Fans are becoming less friendly as their team makes little progress. It is easier to be friendly when you have recently been national chnampions. When Ball State truly had the better team, the fans get a little more peeved at the opponents and their Cosgrove.

Just don't get in the way of the Nebraska co-eds in front of the lunch buffet. They will chew your arms off.

    Re: Parking in Lincoln

We went 2 years ago to the game at Lincoln, and the fans were cordial. I was shocked. I expected them to be like the fans at CU...the worst in the league. Our seats were in the nose bleed section. I had a better view of the game on the scoreboard than in the seats. We'll be there again Saturday...gluttons for punishment. Go I State!

    Re: Parking in Lincoln

I would recommend Lazlo's, much like Wesley said. Awesome pub good, and a little upscale.

No matter what the locals say, don't eat at Runza. It's just gross.

    Re: Parking in Lincoln

mmm...runza has good burgers...but i am not a fan of the actual "runza sandwich" and i was born and raised in omaha!

As for parking, I know on the north side of the stadium in the neighborhood along Y street and Charleston street etc, there is parking in driveways for a small price. Those houses might be where the college kids hang out...but i am not for sure.

    Re: Parking in Lincoln

Well I was younger the last time I went to Lincoln for a game...so I may not remember correctly. I am sure that there was parking in driveways and yards across the footbridge north of the stadium though.
