    Re: Old Dominion lineup

I realize we want to get healthy, but throwing meets is not going to get that fan base going. The team is young, and if they are going to grow up this season they need to wrestle. ODU should provide the opportunity for most of our guys to get wins. We need to get them out there.

    Re: Old Dominion lineup

I assume at 133, we will see Terukina or Jones, maybe Hallman if they don't use Shayden's redshirt and Jones goes to 141.

At 141, Not sure what's up with Goettl and Mayfield
At 149, I assume Weatherman will wrestle
At 157, Not a clue on Moreno or a backup
At 174, Will be Spangler or England
At 184, I bet its Beard, but options like Ward or Shafer aren't bad. I heard Shafer weighed in at 186 for Nichols open, so weight shouldn't be problem
    At 197, Gadsen or Shafer
At Hwt - Gibson (if coaches allow him) or Christensen

Lots of uncertainty on what this lineup will look like this week and in March.

I think Gibson will be in for sure. I hope Schafer really did weigh in at 186 last weekend, because I'm totally comfortable with him filling in at 184 or 197.

Hallman at 133 and White at 141 is not going to happen. Shayden is scheduled to wrestle Sunday at 133.

Buf - my suggestion would be to move on as the lineup is changing almost daily. KJ doesn't know who is going to be wrestling Sunday so I'm not sure why you are trying to puzzle together the lineup.

All we know, because KJ has announced it, is that Cash/Mayfield will not be wrestling this week. It can take several weeks/months to get cleared after a concussion.

The only thing I'm fairly sure of is no true freshmen will be pulled out of RS except Shayden. None of the others are currently good enough to help ISU except Tanner W. So unless Spangler, England and Wilson obtain season ending injuries Tanner will not see the lineup either. The other possibility is maybe 125 if Finch is injured and Moody is not able to get down to 125.

Yes, there is a chance that ISU will forfeit weight(s) throughout the season until everyone gets healthy especially at 149/157. You can look at the roster and see that there isn't a ton of quality depth from 149-165. Also, 125 is starting to get thin again which made the Larson signing even a higher priority.

IMO, Cozart doesn't deserve a shot to wrestle unless he has done some major apologizing and has convinced the coaches he will never throw a match again which is what he did his last match.

This seriously happenned?! He is the son of quite possibly the best HS wrestling coach in the country. I would just call his dad, and let the situation take care of itself.

    Re: Old Dominion lineup

It would be nice to just see some of these guys wrestle with some passion and intensity! Terukina exhibited this at the Nichol's open and even Eggland had a good showing. Hate them or love them, that is how Iowa wrestling has dominated for years! You don't always have to be the best talent on the mat if you can out work and have more intensity and drive than your opponent! I understand patience is needed but that doesn't mean the ISU young wrestlers can give something extra!

England is an aggressive wrestler, hopefully he continues to wrestle that way as does the whole team.

    Re: Old Dominion lineup

Harold Nichols open, Joey went 0-2. Wasn't alot of effort and a few weak headlock attempts. Walking back to center with back to wrestler while match still going on. That was 2nd match, didn't see 1st match.

    Re: Old Dominion lineup

I'm hoping Joey wasn't feeling very well or having troubles with cutting weight. On another note I would like to see our under classmen get out there and wrestle. I was really hoping to see how Tanner Weatherman would be seeing some action. Any one know why he hasn't wrestled an open tournament yet? the redshirt year is a great time to get better and see where you rank.
