Tebow/Fox - Backhanded Compliment of the Year

John Fox: Tim Tebow would be ‘screwed’ in a normal offense - Shutdown Corner - NFL*Blog - Yahoo! Sports

John Fox is my hero. I don't know how the Broncos will fare long term with their goofy *** offense, but it is kind of fun to watch. I have to eat some crow; after the Detroit debacle, I really thought Fox and Elway were just giving Tebow a token shot for PR reasons. What they're doing now by playing to his strengths makes me think otherwise. Is the AFC West so bad this year that a team with virtually no passing attack could somehow emerge as the division champ?

Two completions last week was all he needed.

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.

Yeah, I don't think the experiment will work long term, but it's always fun when a gimmicky offense has some brief success - kind of like the Dolphins with the Wildcat offense a couple years ago.

it was truly fun to watch last week i thought. the broncos o-line needs some credit because the last 6 quarters of football, the opposing defense has know exactly what is going to happen and yet they are still opening holes. also of the 8 pass attempts, i think 4 or 5 were deep balls which Tebow can actually throw a decent deep ball. will be interesting to see how the jets defense handles it

Yeah the deep ball is going to be the primary throw for the Broncos b/c teams are going to play so close to the line of scrimmage on them. The deep ball will try and keep them honest a bit.

I hope Tebow dominates the Jets tomorrow night (he probably won't). I am a Revis fan but his comments this week about Tebow and being bored in the game kind of pisses me off. I hope Tebow meets him 10 yards downfield and runs his *** over.

I said it to start the season and I will say it again, why would anyone doubt Tim Tebow?

This is the type of offense Iowa State should be running Friday night and possibly long term.

The only reason I have to doubt him is the players and coaches around him. He is definitely capable of throwing more than eight passes in games but Fox refuses to move him around the pocket, use four or five wide, and give him easy reads. When he has had the opportunity to play like that he's made a ton of plays.

Except our QB is 6'0 190lbs and would get broke in half with that kind of offense

While I agree that Fox doesn't put him in great situations, who are the 5 WR's that the Broncos have? Their WR's are the worst in the NFL by a wide margin IMO.

Tebow is not actually running all that often lately. You're right though we would need a more durable QB to do what they're doing.

If they still had Lloyd and Thomas was healthy they actually wouldn't be that bad. Matthew Willis is not a good option.

Re: Tebow/Fox - Backhanded Compliment of the Year

The only problem I have with the offense is the fact that they still run on 3rd and long which seems like just a give up in my book. They gotta at least try to let Tebow make a play with his arm instead of throwing in the towel on 3rd downs.

Yeah but they don't. They traded away the best option in Lloyd and than asked Tebow to go play QB. I love the fact that he has said "**** you." and gone and won 3 games

Big Broncos fan and I'm scared tomorrow's game could get ugly. I hope I'm wrong.
