    LaRon Dendy...

had one hell of a game last night for his new team, Middle Tennessee State, as they thumped UCLA on the road.

    16 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots.

UCLA was a pre-season Top 25 team, and now they are 0-2 with both of those losses coming at home to mid-major teams.

I have to imagine their message board meltdowns are making ours look like child's play.

He was (is?) a headcase, but I think he would have fit in well with the style of play of last year's team had he not transferred.

He would be one of our best players. Wouldn't last year have been his last year though?

Dendy was my favorite player from that team 2 years ago, wish things would have went better but McD. pretty much ruined him here.

I'm not so sure we can blame McDermott for Dendy being a basket case.

MTSU was 10-11 from 3pt range (and 6-11 from the FT line)

Is there anybody who has transferred away from Iowa State and not become a much better player? McDermott was like an anchor on their souls.

    Two things:

    1) This happened before McDermott (Shane Power, Shawn Taggert, etc)

    2) Are you surprised that college kids are better as seniors than they are as freshmen?

    Thank you, Mrs. McDermott.

Oh right. Blaming everything on McDermott makes your sad, immature ego feel better. And facts and logic are to be damned.

    Re: LaRon Dendy...

We need a second force inside like a Dendy or Godfrey. We have none on the roster apparently.

When Royce is THE inside game, he will be pushing rope up hill by himself as he is double teamed and no kickout passes.

It will be a .500 season unless miracles happen. The offense needs some major rework.

It would be good to have Godfrey or Dendy's intensity on the floor. We are missing that.

I will dispute those two examples, because Shane was pretty darn good before he left. He just continued the course that he was on. Most reasonable folk knew Taggert needed some development. Throw in his health freshman year, and its no surprise.

But technically, yes it has happened before. Plus I'm not ready to anoint Dendy the 2nd coming just yet...

We need a PG about 100X more than we need another big man.

    Re: LaRon Dendy...

We have enough terrible defenders on the team. We don't need to add more.

It is all tied together. If Royce acts as an inside point guard while everyone else stands around, who will take the second defender inside off Royce and be a threat to score. So far, we have tons of work to fix this.
