drake beat our elite 8 team.

Good thing you younger fans were not around back then to throw that team under a bus. Basketball teams take time to gel. Just like our best team ever did. We had a new guy in tinsley that had to learn the offfense. Guys are still trying to figure out what their roles on the team are. Give them a chance. Quit throwing our guys under the bus.

Interesting point. I wonder why no one has brought this up in multiple other threads yet?

Drake also beat an Iowa State team that went 3-27 or some such. Your point has no point.

Losing to Drake is very much part of Fred's strategy to take us back to the Elite 8. It's all planned.

Or maybe we should brace for a talent heavy, but undiciplined team that will finish 7-9th in the conference. OR maybe it's 2 ******* games and people need to S-T-F-U!

If Eustachy had what he thought was a decent team, he would do everything he could to put them in a position to lose an early game. Look at the Morningside game the next year. With a bad loss he would have a concrete example to point to them if they weren't doing everything the Eustachy way. I've never seen a BB coach that used his players so much like pieces on a chess board as LE.

I agree that this loss could be very good for this team. I was hoping it would only be a scare to wake them up, but this loss should definitely be a wake up call for them.

I guess I am one of the few that won credits on this game. They have a long way to go to be a team. They can get there though.

Thats good to know that we have a NBA point guard like Tinsley on this team that is playing in his first road game.

    Oh wait.....

Because someone needs to be held accountable and JP needs to be emailed. The hell with the fact that this is basically a brand new team who's never played together before. We hyped this machine up to conquer all, someone has to pay!

Heck, I just got done telling a non-ISU fan friend of mine (who lives in Illinois) last week not to get ahead of them here. He was going on telling me how good ISU was going to be this year. There are just too many new faces on this team to start off playing like a tourney team. The Hype machine was running over time on this team.

I was at the November 1999 loss to Drake, and I did not go back to the Knapp Center until last night (I am going to refrain from ever attending a game there again). The 99-00 team lost to a terrible Drake team. I think this Drake team is much better when Rice and Alexander are in there.

But our 99-00 team played their guts out on defense. They fought hard in that Drake game even though half of them were hurt and the other half sick. Our current team just does not play hard enough on every time up and down the court.
