    New Cooking Ideas

The Girlfriend and I are looking for some new interesting things to cook, getting bored with our current cooking rut. We don't eat a lot of red meat, and usually cook fairly healthy items. Looking for something new and interesting, that's not too many ingredients. Healthy is also a big bonus.

Go buy a new cook book or look online. There are good smartphone/iPad apps available.

    Re: New Cooking Ideas

Go to the Cooking Light website. All of their recipes can be found online. I cook quite a few of them.

Here's a simple one that's one of my favorites:

    Re: New Cooking Ideas

Here's one the wife and I like.

    • Cook some orzo in chicken broth (I use low sodium).
    • Add steamed green beans.
    • Mix in grated Parmesan cheese.
    • Cook and add some turkey bacon for protein (I cut it up into pieces).
    • Salt/Pepper to taste.
    • Top with the powdery Parmesan cheese like spaghetti.

Last winter I got big into making fajitas. Easy to make and you can add a lot of veggies.

Stir fry is pretty easy too! I've used beef, fish, and chicken. You can pretty much use any veggies (I usually get the frozen bags) and then decide what kind of sauce you want. I really like red wine vinegar with lite sodium soy sauce, and cut up ginger.

For both of these I get this tri pepper mix from Trader Joes for like 2 bucks. Works really well.

For something new, my wife just made a bunch of turkey meatballs from a big ground turkey pack we got at Sams Club. You can thaw some out for hoagies, pasta dishes, or put some in the crock pot for company.

We do this but add black beans and switch the cheese to Gorgonzola or Feta cheese and you have something.

    This sounds good.
