    Bad year for Big 12 RBs

    Mizzou, ISU, TT, OU, and maybe Texas has now lost their top RB with a season ending injury.

    Yes, it's been kind of a bad year. At ISU, I think it's kind of been a God send. James White has proven that he can be a BIGXII running back. I can't wait till next season to figure out which back we give it to.
    Shontrelle Johnson and James White could both be 1000 yard running backs. Hell, if it works out right, White might hit 1000 yards this season. As a Cyclone fan, I know I'm happy as hell about the future at the running back position!

    I think you are confused there by the meaning of the phrase that you mangled. White has been great, but he hasn't outperformed what Shontrelle was expected to do. It isn't like we suddenly discovered a Heisman winner once he got more carries or something. I'm excited about White as well, but Shontelle's injury was hardly something that revealed a hidden gem or anything. We knew we were deep at RB.


    I guess I am weirded out by the fact that you either don't understand the English language or you consider Shontrelle's injury to be a wonderful occurrence.

    While I know what you mean, I'm still unsettled by seeing anyone refer to a potentially career-ending injury as a "God send".

    I completely disagree. SJ is better than JW. I like White, but he can not make someone miss in the open field. There have been so many times where he might run to the outside or break to the outside and have to beat just one guy to get a 5 plus yard game and he gets caught every time. He does a good job of taking what it there and exploiting it, but in our offense, you need to beat a guy one on one and he has not shown he can really do that.

    Potential for what? He is a bigger, more downhill back, but White is faster, and has better hands and receiving ability. White is better for this system, if we ever get back to running it.
