Good for him, he was rarely going to see the field here, so it's good to see him succeed elsewhere.

Watched Ohio last week or the week before on ESPN. He looks pretty good. More agile than you would think. He made a wise decision to transfer but he's got some game.

Didn't Phillip Bates transfer to Ohio as well?

I watched the game as well good to see him do well. Bates was out at wr blocking for him some. Went there to play qb when he found out he wasn't good enough to play here.

    Re: Beau Blankenship

Since Solich took over, I've watched every Ohio game on television, because I'm one of those old boring squares who actually likes to see that offense executed well.

Anyway, Blankenship is legitimately good. He'd be nice to have back, and would fit in well. But we're rich and deep at his position, and he would have to share a lot more - he's a very nice feature at Ohio.

So, he would see the field for us in certain packages, but it seriously would be something like a 4-way logjam (if not more!). At Ohio, he's the show.

I would guess he has to be a bit disappointed. Last year, it looked like he was working his way onto the field, and now he's back up who sees some time as a WR - he's fine, and is good at option support, so I'll put it this way:

He's doing his job, but isn't starring, in any way, like I think Solich thought he would. He came off the bench for one or two plays against Ball State and threw a touchdown - that was nice.

The very few times he does go under center, he's been reliable and usually throws for a big gain. So he's a solid change-up QB who can sub in on the wing a little.

But, for a red-red-shirt senior, he's not leading the team in a significant way, but I think he provides valuable support. I think it is just a question of talent-ceiling, not want-to, if that makes any sense. (In other words, he always seems ready and willing - just doesn't execute as well as the starter.)

That's too bad. Did everybody always say he would have had a better shot if he was a safety?
