    records broken

to some of my friends who wanted me to keep them updated on james and since it is a slow news day, here is what was printed after his last game and his first game back from his injury.

Tiffin University's offense had their best game of the season against Lake Erie in a tough 52-42 defeat at Frost Kalnow Stadium. But the biggest news after the game was the six records that fell in the defeat.

Quarterback JAMES CAPELLO completed 46 passes in the game, shattering the GLIAC record of 39 held by Indianpolis's Matt Kohn (2003) and Ferris State's Matt McCarthy (1999). The mark also broke Matt Root's TU record of 40 set in 2008.

Wide receiver OBADIAH ***** caught 18 of those passes, breaking another GLIAC record of 15 catches set by three different players, most recently by Carlton Brewster of Ferris State in 2004. The mark also broke DYSHAUN EDWARDS'S school record of 14 set in both 2008 and 2007.

Capello accounted fo 6 touchdowns in the game, passing for 5 and rushing for another, breaking the school record of 5 touchdowns Accounted for by George Whitfield, Garrion Corbin, and Matt Root. Capello's 5 touchdown passes also tied the single game mark held by Root and Whitfield.

Lastly, while not a record, Capello's 383 yards passing was the fifth highest total in school history.

So there my friends it's nice seeing an x cyclone in the news. GO CYCLONES

Oh, and just curious as to what James thinks of Barnett starting. I figure they probably knew each other pretty well.

Actually he was really good friends with Barnett and lets face it, he has to be thinking what could have been but life would be easy if you could see in the future. He just knew there was not a four way competition in the spring and made his decision from there, and i do mean he made the decision which i was against.Anyway i know he still loves the cyclones as well as our entire family.

yes he does have two years left if he can stay healthy, and he has one game left this year. They only have a few seniors so hopefully they can build. He missed four games.

What did your boy think of the ISU qb coaching while he was in Ames?

    Re: records broken

Capello might of been the starter right now, who knows after Steele sucked it up for 3-4 weeks, it would of been between Capello and Barnett but whats done is done, best of luck to James and i hope he continues to succeed

I don't want to bash ISU becuse we love the school to much. We were lied to by one individual over and over again, and all we asked for was honesty. We over and ever gave them and out by saying you guys had to make decisions on the run and if james was a mistake, we understand just tell us. But the answer was always james has turned the corner and he has the ability to move the team up and down the field. To us that was the job of the Q/B. But we thought they put themselves in a box bringing in a kid and parading him in front of the media before he ever threw a pass at ISU, what pressure they put on the kid. But they kept saying it was a four man race, but i spoke everynight to james and he said he and barnett were not getting any reps with the ones and twos. So there you have it, i could blow you out of the water with some of the things said, but what would that prove? ISU gave us a great opportunity which we will be greatful for forever!!Go Cyclones
