Laptop Repair in Des Moines Area

Where is a good place to get a laptop fixed. My wife's just died (wont turn on) and she is freaking out. Sorta need quick turn around or aleast be able to get a few projects off it. Most if it is backed up except her most recent work. Thanks.

Does it show any lights on it at all? Or is it completely dead? Also what brand of computer is it? Does it have lights if it is plugged in?

Take battery out, hold power button for 30 seconds, but battery back and and charge.

The only light that is on is the one by the plug in, telling it is getting power.

Re: Laptop Repair in Des Moines Area

Got an extra laptop handy and a realllllllly small Phillips screwdriver?

    Edit: My guess is either
    a) hard drive crash (likely)
    b) motherboard fried (much less likely)

When you say it won't turn on, do you get the manufacturer screen or anything? Or does the power button flat out do nothing?

Been to Dymin Systems in Urbandale on multiple occasions and did a great job. Think they still have 24 hour turn-around most of the time. It is generally across from the Rec Room.

probably not a hard drive failure then. It should at least boot up if that is the case. Might be a loose wire behind the power button.

My guess is , Motherboard, probably in the power section is bad. Might be a bad power adapter, and the battery is run completely down, might check that first.
