2011: a remake of 2010? Maybe only worse...

Worse in the sense that Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Kansas State are far better than last year's Nebraska, Colorado and Missouri.

Nebraska and Missouri were ranked 9 and 15 when we played them right after our 5th win. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Kansas State are all ranked in the top 14.

Kansas continues to be Iowa State's 5th win.

IF and when Rhoads go 5-7 this season, I wouldn't complain a bit. However, why not get our 6th win over Oklahoma State. I bet Boise State or Stanford would love to see Iowa State beat Oklahoma State. I don't see Oklahoma beating Oklahoma State especially with Sooners' top player going down with an injury.

Now, I just said 5-7 is not bad, in fact it meets or exceeds expectation. But TWO years in a row, we have three more games left to steal the 6th victory. If we fall short again this year, this might start to look like Danny Boy's strike at North championship.

Go CYCLONES. Let's mess up the BCS title fate for Big 12 and get that W ;)

I don't think Boise State has any shot at the championship game. A 1 loss team out of any of the conferences will make it before they would.

With that said, I agree! Let's get Oklahoma State. Talk about putting ISU on the map. If we could knock them out of the title game, that would be huge.

I don't know about comparing the last two years with Dan's failure to win the North. We screwed up by not playing well against a Texas team we could have beat or playing like crap a Mizzou. We play a much harder schedule than what Dan had with one less non-conf. game. I do agree beat OSU and gain national cred.

I cannot imagine how high we will fly after beating Oklahoma State. I think this one is a game with the biggest implication on not only our records, but also (and especially) BCS meltdown. I am not saying BSU should play LSU for title not do I approve of it. I just think that BSU and Stanford will btich and moan if OSU goes down as they should.

I just hope we don't get destroyed by Okie State.

we're 2-0 against teams we were favored to beat.
Which means we're 3-4 outright against teams that were favored to beat us. If we make a bowl being the underdog in 10 of our 12 games that would be impressive.

And just like last year there are going to be a couple losses on our schedule that are going to make you even angrier in retrospect.

I think 5-7 this year would be a sizable improvement given the schedule. I'm not conceding any of the last 3 though, as I know the team isn't.

I think they might, but to me, Stanford, Okie st, and AL would all need at least 1 more lose, and I truly believe OU would have to lose again as well....

Winner of Oregon vs Stanford would get in over Boise and that hurts them. Unless Oregon wins and than loses to USC at home (which I doubt, but who knows)

Or Stanford would beat Oregon and lose to Notre Dame. But all 3 of Stanford's final games are home games.

Bama would have to lose again

Oklahoma would have to lose again

The chances are not good at all

Its two weeks later and I still cannot believe Rhoads' team won that game at Lubbock. That is just sick.

OU has lost Broyles and Whaley but they still have Landry Jones and gobs of talent. Kenny Stills is a stud WR and Finch is no slouch at RB.

Am I the only one thinking about winning 8 games?

Don't get me wrong, 6 wins will make me happy enough to do backflips, but I think this team has the ability to shock any of the teams we have left on the schedule.
