    November 18th- Weather Update

Okay a little premature but the early weather forecast for Nov. 18th seems to be unfortunately decent. High of 49 that day with a night time low of 20 with 15 mph gusts... Not great for Okie State but I was still hoping for worse than that...

Weather forecasts are only accurate to about three days into the future. Beyond that it's pretty much up in the air. Here's hoping for a blizzard.

    Seriously?

    Re: November 18th- Weather Update

Can someone honestly explain to me why they think bad weather would be an advantage for ISU over OSU?
    IMHO:
    1. How many of ISU's players have actually played football in bad weather? guessing not many.
    2. Bad weather aids the team with more athletes.
    3. Given our problems with ball security do we really want to deal with a wet football?
    4. Bad weather turns it into more of a running game: OSU is averaging more yards per carry then ISU and our rush defense is the weakest part of our defense.

We will be coming off of a bye week to get healthy, work on fundamentals, add some wrinkles to our offense and defense and come up with a good game plan to pull the upset.

OSU will be playing us on the road with a short week to prepare. How seriously will their players be taking us with the OU game coming up next on their schedule?

Give me a nice weather and put it on our players and coaches to execute a great game against a team dreaming about playing in the NCG.

Crappy weather tends to negate some of the mismatches in speed and athletic ability, but yeah, the coaches and team are obviously preparing to beat them in any weather conditions.

Still WAY too early to talk specifics.

In fact, I just looked at 'model fantasy land' and it said about the opposite of what you mentioned.

Give it til at least a week from now. Then there will be a pretty good indication of what's to come.

    Re: November 18th- Weather Update

Looking at the style of football we play I still see bad weather hurting us more then OSU.
Weeden is a pocket passer. More mature and experienced. A little rain or snow is not going to slow Blackmon down that much.

On the other hand we have an inexperienced QB who mainly makes plays with his feet. Ball security and sound tackling have been problems for us. If we were more of a power team I would be on the weather band wagon but we are not one.

    Again just my opinion.

I agree to a certain extent. I think bad weather normally hurts the passing team more. But we run that zone read soooo much that ball handling is put at a premium.

On the other hand, maybe we just run Woody off left tackle 40 times and call it a day

I would argue the exact opposite. Osu loves to throw and weeden hasn't shown that he can be extremely accurate. I'm not sure, but hasn't he had a few problems with int's thisnyear?

i agree that bad weather makes it purely a running game, and that does not go well for us, though we will need to run to win, so maybe??!?!?!?!?! who knows ... usually the better lines win in bad weather i think, and okie stated dline isnt awesome... so i vote blizzard.

That is why Woody may get more carries in that game.

He looked accurate Saturday with the ability for good timing way downfield. He will be the key to the whole game. A few years back the accurate Sam Bradford had an inaccurate day for Oklahoma and the game turned out 17-7. Weeden needs to be moved around as he is an ex baseball player and we need him to throw out of position so the throws go high.
