So the top team in the big 10 would be 8th in the big 12. Hmm

So... the best team in the Big 10 would be 8th out of the 10 teams in the Big 12.

Sounds about right to me. The Big 10 is a complete joke of a conference.

That's what you get with rankings that don't care what name is on the jersey.

Also interesting that Boise State's SOS is still 30 spots better than Stanford's even after playing low ranked UNLV. Nobody dogs Stanford's schedule.

Tell me who's good in the Big 10 this year? Seriously.

Penn State is the best you have? They are horrible. MSU gets whipped by an average Nebraska team, and barely holds on at home against a terrible Minnesota team.

Wisky is clearly the best team in that conference this year IMO, but even they've found a way to lose somehow.

The Big 10 has to be about the worst BCS conference this year in football.

You listed UNI twice in the ELO_CHESS component, I'm guessing #53 was Iowa, and #55 is UNI?

The fact that they are even close goes to show you how bad the B10 is this year.

Jeez.. Playing Iowa is such a lose lose situation for us. If we win its because we are supposed to, but if we lose, its embarrassing because they suck. I mean, just look at that ranking.. They are really dragging our SOS down.

Re: ISU #42 in Sagarin, #25 in BCS component

Looking at the ELO_CHESS (BCS component) rankings for all the Big 12 teams is pretty insane.

    Oklahoma State - 2
    Oklahoma - 6
    Kansas State - 9
    Texas - 11
    Texas A&M - 14
    Baylor - 16
    Missouri - 19
    Texas Tech - 23
    Iowa State - 25
    Kansas - 58

    Strength of schedule for the conference members are : 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 12, 14, & 22.

And some people argue we should have two members of the SEC in the title game. Not much question in my mind the winner of the Big 12 should play the winner of the SEC this year if we want to find the best team in the country and have the best game.

I posted the same idea in the "rematch" thread. Boise is kind of an irrational hate magnet for people. A lot of it really doesn't make sense.

They'll end up with an SOS around 60, better than a good 10-25 BCS conference schools and in the ball park of about 40 of the 66 BCS teams.

Nobody would ever mention an unbeaten Pac Ten or Big Ten team not being worthy of a title game, they'd talk about it as a flaw in the system. But Boise State with the same or better SOS and it's all crybaby old boys club. It's especially irrational and surprising from fans of a school like ISU.
