    Trying to tackle Jarvis West

This kid has a motor on him, seems like he's real tough to get down. The returns have been exciting, and the screens have been too, albeit they make me nervous most of the time. If we can get a couple blockers in front of him, he can make some big plays. Real excited for his future!

Dude runs like he's got KY Jelly plastered all over his uniform and body. Not to mention he's so damn explosive and quick!

Re: Trying to tackle Jarvis West

I really like what I have seen from him.

Wasn't it the last game where the play was whistled dead on a bubble screen but West was actually on top of a defender and busted loose and would have taken it to the house?

I would like to see him get more touches. Lenz is pretty sure handed on punt and kick returns, but West has way more big return potential IMO.

Re: Trying to tackle Jarvis West

He is easily the most exciting/explosive player on the offense right now. I love Rhoads' gameplan to get him the ball more. The best part is, we have him for 3 more years!

Biggest bright spot of the game IMO (well, aside from getting the win). I'm really excited for his future. So much big play potential with him.

Well if I had KY jelly all over me and a bunch of dudes were trying to grab me I'd run like hell too.

Total opposite in stature from another #1 receiver ISU had a few years ago. His name rhymes with, Odd Wife.

Re: Trying to tackle Jarvis West

I'd love to have a RB/ slot WR emerge as a Dexter McCluster-type guy. Ole Miss used to run a lot of screens to him, and then watch the defense flop around trying to catch him... highly entertaining.

To me, he's in the mold of Dexter McCluster of the Chiefs, and like the Rodgers brothers of Oregon St, James a senior and Jaquizz now of Atlanta Falcons. Small frame, but extremely athletic. Kind of a hybrid between WR and TB/RB. I hope we continue to see Jarvis' speed on the field.

The Rodgers comparison is a pretty good one. I watched a lot of OSU games a couple years ago and they had good motors on them too. One of the brothers got knocked out of a game and was searching everywhere for his helmet to get back in.
