    Bad football on Saturday

I had the 'privelege' to watch Penn St. vs Michigan and some of Iowa vs. Wiscsonsin. Is it me or is Big 10 football bad? I thought I saw dinosaurs playing against each other. I thought I was watching a game from the 1960's with the lack of creativity offensively for all 4 teams.

I thought Mac ball was being stubborn running up the middle, but these teams are unwatchable! Did anyone else notice or think this? I know this has been discussed a lot lately with Iowa football, but it is not just them, it is the about half of the Big 10. I cannot believe the Big 10 is still getting the huge TV contracts like they are.

My guess is with the Big 10 Network, bad teams and bad football the TV package will get pretty thin for the Big 10 and I am quite thankful for that.

I've always looked at it like this -- one year these conferences are up, and these conferences are down. The next year this conference is up, this conference is so-so and this conference is awful. The next year the conference that was awful the year before is now up, and so on and so on. You get the point.

So far the Big 12 is unimpressive along with the Big 10. In fact MAC looks just as good. Even the Oklahoma-Tulsa game was much closer than 63-21. Tulsa looked pretty good for much of the game. I now consider USC and LSU definitely to be better than West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Florida.

I was trying to emphasize the schemes I guess. The Big 10 teams are stuck in the 1960's while most other conferences are changing their offensive schemes.

The BigTen style works against other conference some years, some times not.

Remember, the Big Ten does have a winning bowl record over the past 10 years, as well as a winning regular season OOC record.

The "Dinosaur" Style doesn't always fail.

No, but it is pretty boring. Remember that 6-4 Iowa Penn State game? ::yawn::
