    Scott Christopherson New PG

According to Randy Peterson's twitter Christopherson is our "new" PG, whatever that means.

    Re: Scott Christopherson New PG

Dumb. Iowa State will have many "PGs". We run an Up-Tempo offense. Royce will probably be bringing it up as much as Scotty or Allen. We will toss it to whoever is open running up the court.

I've never really thought Scotty looked like that great of a ball handler. Maybe he worked on it this off-season.

    Re: Scott Christopherson New PG

Scott's ballhandling is sufficient. It is his strength with the ball that is my concern.

Maybe that means Scotty is going to the point guard from the 15th minute to the 10th minute mark in the first half of the game...

Late last season I thought he handled the ball pretty well(not on a DG level or anything) it seems like when he drove to the hoop he'd have issues finishing though.

To me it means: Tyrus McGee isn't what they expected him to be.

This may be...but Tyrus was a SG last year so they had to have known that it wasn't his best position.

And if McGee is the 3-pt shooter it sounded like he was in Juco, maybe it means that him and Scotty will just flip-flop their expected roles for this season and we don't really skip a beat.

I'm pretty sure they really like McGee but he is a scorer.

McGee is best suited off the ball rather than orchestrating.

And possibly that Chris Allen hasn't developed the ball-handling in the past year to take over handling that role as much as the staff hoped. Doesn't seem to line up with the Chris Allen will be the next Garrett things we had been hearing.

I'll try to reserve judgment for now, but this moves the needle a shade in the 'concern' direction where it had been close to pegging on the 'optimism' side.

    Re: Scott Christopherson New PG

yes i realize isu isn't duke and scotty isn't scheyer, but a couple years ago scheyer "surprised" as the PG pick and duke won it all.

tyrel reed and morningstar handled the ball quite a bit for KU last year as well.

maybe scotty turns it over the least, and allows royce to play inside and allen/mcgee/babb to operate best from the wing. curious to see how it all works out.
