    Wireless Tablet to TV Mirroring

The company I work for attends a number of trade shows and our sales team wants to be able to show pictures, videos, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets to people on an HDTV that we have in our trade show booth.

I need something that will allow me to take the files that are stored on a tablet and put them up on the TV. And it has to be wireless. It seems like the simplest solution would be something that mirrors the tablet display onto the TV. So far I've found something that will work on a laptop, but nothing for a tablet.

Does anyone have any ideas? I've heard that Apple TV with an iPad might do the trick, but I've never used either one.

Edit: While we'll be able to set up a wireless router to generate our own wi-fi network, the router won't always be connected to the internet. So cloud-based applications are a no-go as well.

Can you hook a laptop up to the TV then use something like LogMeIn from the tablet to load the files on the laptop? Not the most elegant way but I think it would work.

Unfortunately, we may not have internet access. Can LogMeIn function without internet access?

This looks like it would be an option:
Amazon.com: VIZIO XWH200 Universal Wireless HD Video and Audio Kit (Black): Electronics

You would have to have a bulky transmitter plugged in by HDMI to your Tablet but it should function just like an HDMI cable otherwise. Pretty pricey though.

Re: Wireless Tablet to TV Mirroring

What kind(s) of tablets is your group using?

What kinds of outputs do the tablets support (USB, VGA, mini-HDMI)?

I assume you have looked at devices like this:

    Wireless USB to HDMI -
Trulink Wireless USB to HDMI Kit - Cables To Go

    Wireless USB to VGA -
Trulink Wireless USB to VGA Kit - Cables To Go

I've seen things like these, but I'm wondering what type of tablet they'd work on. Most are Windows compatible - is there any chance these would run on an Android tablet?

I think their idea of having it wireless is to untie from the "bulky" equipment and be able to move around with it.

I was going to recommend he gets iPads, but thought you should approve it first.

Have you used the AirPlay function of Apple TV and, if so, what did you think about it? Also, how does the iPad handle PowerPoint?

I think you need the iPad 2 though, not the original, for whatever that's worth.

Apple TV and an iPad will work. However, you must upgrade both the iPad and the Apple TV to iOS5. They work like a charm.

You will have to convert the PP to a PDF or import into Keynote.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll give the Apple TV a try.
