    Horror Movie Advice

What Horror movie is the least scary of the below. My girlfriend hates scary movies, but has agreed to watch one with me for Halloween.

This list is movies on Netflix instant or from my personal collection. Tried to find a classic horror movie that I have not seen before. Since I haven't seen them, I am not sure what she will tolerate.

    The Excorcist
    Paranormal Activity
    Hellraiser
    Texas Chainsaw Massacre
    Scream
    The Thing
    The Fly
    Night of the Living Dead
    The Shining

I think she mostly does not like the blood and gore aspect of horror movies, so maybe more of a thriller type horror movie.

    Re: Horror Movie Advice

I'd go with one of these two

Paranormal Activity - Intense, not advisable if you don't like the homemade documentary style movie.

Scream - A little bit of blood but not a ton, more of a "fun" horror movie.

    Re: Horror Movie Advice

Scream is probably the most pedestrian/mainstream-friendly option on that list.

My wife HATES scary movies, but we have a tradition of watching Night of the Living Dead on Halloween. A couple things you have going for you is that it's black and white and most of the "scares" come more from atmosphere and not actually seeing the zombies doing their business.

    Re: Horror Movie Advice

The Fly isn't really horror. But Jeff Goldblum turning into a fly is fun.

The Exorcist is pretty freaky, but it is a classic.

    Re: Horror Movie Advice

You should check out "Trick 'r Treat". Its available for stream on Netflix.
Its actually pretty good. Its 4 different tales interwoven into one movie. It just feels very "Halloween".

    * It's the one from a few years ago. Michael Dougherty directs.
