Best 60" + TV for the money

My Sony Grand Wega is on the fritz, and it's an $800 repair. Half tempted to fix it, wife thinks we should put the money in a new TV.

Viewing distance from coach is 18 ft., so can handle a pretty big one. I would like a 65" or bigger. The Sharp Aqous seems popular....

We have a Mitsubishi 65" DLP. You can find them for a good price online, 900-1200. The only reason we went DLP is the price for a plasma or flat screen at this size is crazy. They make a 72" and 80" model. We are happy and have had it for 8 months.

If it's anything like the Sony Wega I own. Bad circuit board, mine died last week. They're notorious for that apparently. Now I need to find a way to dispose of a 350lb CRT tv.

No kidding. That extra 5" is pretty expensive. You can get a 60" from amazon in the same series (the top end of samsung) for $2000 less.

Ive been very happy with my 46" samsung.

Stick with Sony. Absolutely best pic on the market. Of course I'm waiting on the Apple TV that is supposed to operate by voice. :-)

Is it a 40XBR800? If so PM me, you can get sony to offer you a replacement TV for about 1/2 price. They gave me a free 52" LED tv to replace one of my Sony's and offered me a 40" LED for half price.
