White's fumble on the goal line?

    White's fumble on the goal line?

    Was James' fumble on the goal line really a fumble? Looked like his knee was down. Wondered at the time why it was't reviewed. Seemed like they said there was also a declined penalty on the play? What really happened on that play?

    I thought it would turn out to be a huge play, but CPR and the Cyclones thought otherwise.

    It was definitely a fumble, the ball was moving before the knee was down.

    I don't remember a penalty, but it's common for penalties on the offense to be declined on plays with turnovers because if the defense accepts it, then (generally) the offense keeps possession.

    It was a fumble.

    I also thought Lenz fumbled the ball on that catch but thankfully they ruled he had not and didn't see enough evidence to overturn.

    I was sure that Lenz's left elbow hit before the ball started moving but I think it would have been hard to overturn no matter what the call on the field was.

    Fumble. The ball was clearly coming out with several inches of daylight between his knee and the ground. It was the right call.

    Lenz's play was very close as well and shows how important the on-field decision is.

    how about the screen pass to West when he spun on the defender without his knees touching and they called him down? He probably would have scored had they not missed that one. Good thing it didnt matter in the end.

    That was amazingly close and I don't envy refs trying to make calls like that. One of thoseguys calls that you wouldn't be able to overturn if it was called either way. It was nice to see our young guys get involved in the passing game with Gary and West.

    I thought it was pretty clear that Lenz had an elbow down, but if they had ruled it a fumble, I'm not sure we could have gotten it overturned.

    It was good to have officiating go our way yesterday. They missed some holds on our oline and the Lenz fumble was a toss up. Finally caught a few breaks.
