    Our Best Defense

Is our Offense. I know, Mr. Obvious right? But...honestly. I know our defense played REALLY well, but...

But with the way our offense ran the ball, they really had Tech sucking wind, and was able to keep our defense fresh against that quick spread offense. That is critical. This offense is at their best when they can pick up 7-8 yards (or more) on 1st down, and then use some zone read play action.

We all love quick, exciting scores. But when we are moving the chains running the ball, our offense really gives our defense a chance to excel.

    Re: Our Best Defense

Our offense looked good in many areas.... One major reason is 3rd down conversions... we made a crazy percentage and number last night. That kept the TT defense winded and frustrated, leading to us pushing them around early and often.

    Re: Our Best Defense

This is exactly what I have been saying for weeks. The ISU defense is not great, but not horrible if they are not on the field all day. Did anyone catch Lattimer's comments about the defense being frustrated with the offense going 3 and out in 35 seconds in the post game?

This game shows you what our defense can do when they're not gassed and not put in horrible situations after turnovers.

I still put 75% of our problems this year on our offense. Nothing is worse for a defense than having the offense go out there and go 3 and out in under a minute in the "jet tempo"... OR... turning the ball over right away and putting the defense in a horrible position.
