LAPLACE ó Josh Jordan threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Adam Hebert in triple overtime, allowing St. Amant to escape with a wild 57-54 victory over St. Charles.
The Gators improved to 1-3. The Comets dropped to 2-2.
The game was tied 37-37 after regulation, St. Amant kicker Colby Robert forcing overtime with a 34-yard field goal.
In the first two overtimes the teams traded touchdowns, each starting from the otherís 10-yard line.
The Gators got a 1-yard TD run from Charles West, then scored on a 5-yard pass from Jordan to Jat Poche. St. Charles scored on a pair of 10-yard runs by quarterback Vincent Rollo.
In the third overtime, St. Charles went on offense first but had to settle for a 27-yard field goal. St. Amantís offense then took the field and quickly scored on the Jordan to Hebert pass.
Jordan, an Iowa State commitment, threw a total of seven touchdown passes on the night. He connected twice with West on scores of 9 and 12 yards, hit Jermoine Lewis on passes of 25 and 13 yards, and threw a 60-yarder to Herbert in regulation.
Rollo threw four TD passes. St. Amant finished with 485 yards total offense, St. Charles with 384.
I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
