nice article..did Hoiberg say anything if he'll play more of a 3 because we got more size this year?

I sure am excited to see Melvin throw down some monster dunks off of the give and go from Royce, and hopefully visa-versa.

When you look at how well he did as a FR, you have to be excited about Ejim's game in the next 3 years.

He won't be relied on as much or likely log as many minutes, but that should help him overall.

I'm really excited to see him develop. He really gets overlooked at times with the transfers coming in, but he showed great potential to go along with a Big 12 ready frame last season.

Re: Season Preview: Ejim's role to grow in 2011-12

With White on the floor, Ejim will probably have the worst of the two defenders on him. If he can take that defender out and beat him off the dribble, that will open up the pass to White, the DUNK or the kick out for a 3.

I see him being an important part of the teams success this year.

Melvin confirmed at the b ball outing last night that he wont be playing point guard. Perhaps the only player not mentioned at that position.

Re: Season Preview: Ejim's role to grow in 2011-12

Wow Hoiberg brought Diante from 39 through 3 seasons to 59 threes his senior year?? I know he played a lot bigger role but thats still nuts. It had a whole lot to do with confidence for DG but still, the mayor may be one of the best shooting mechanics coaches in all off college. Very impressive.

"Freddie knows the game," Bird said. "I'm sure he picked up a lot of stuff over the years from different people. College is different from the NBA, but I'm sure he'll do a great job."

It looks like He's lost some weight as well when I've seen him around campus so that's why I think he'll be in a Rashon Clark role or something similar

SO your saying theres a chance Railey will play some point guard?

That'll really screw with some other coaches

I say run it against Iowa when we are winning by 20+ with 3 minutes left...show who the real in-state team is this year.

Sat by Railey, real nice guy. Team cant wait to play somebody else, getting tired of playing each other.

Melvin came and sat down by my daughter and I at the Kansas game last year. Here we were in Allen Fieldhouse after the game hanging out and he comes out of the locker room and just sits down by us and starts conversing with us.He spent a good 20-25 minutes just hanging out with us. We were extremely impressed by his attitude and how he made the extra effort to sit and talk to us, 2 people he had never met. Instantly made us fans for life, what a great guy!!!! My favorite Cyclone!
