They'd have a lot better luck if animals weren't so darn tasty.

Violation of the 13th amendment, which bans slavery...I think PETA wants to take a whale home and keep him in the bathtub. What a bunch of wackos. I'm pretty sure there are some former Aggie Yell Leaders in the bunch...

"The suit, which PETA says it will file Wednesday in U.S. District Court in San Diego, hinges on the fact that the 13th Amendment, while prohibiting slavery and involuntary servitude, does not specify that only humans can be victims"

If they win do we have to set all of our pets free? There are a lot of dogs and cats in 'slavery'. And I bet the guppies wouldn't make it very long on their own.

I would think it would cover all zoos also. I suppose they would rather set them free like that wacko did last week in Ohio.

Someone on another thread stated that all publicity is good publicity. PETA has subscribed to this incorrect notion for years and it has not served them well.

It's worked extremely well for them. It is unbelievable the amount of money they raise. And that is the key consideration for every action they take, they are far from naive about their general public perception, but it is worth it for them in terms of donations.

And I would argue there is a lot more money in it for them to act sane, just ask any legitimate charity or rights group. Right now they are guaranteeing that anyone with a brain will not donate to them because they don't want their money wasted on PR stunts.

I guess I don't really see it, but PETA must have a good porpoise for taking legal action for these whales...

All PETA wants is for you to talk about PETA. They don't even care if you're saying bad things.

    Mission accomplished.

Honestly, this one isn't as crazy as the Ben & Jerry's human milk thing.....

I guess Sea World could put them back in the wild where they will die from disease, human error or whale fat. Probably just ****** they didn't get front row seats to see Shamoo.
