With adding WV and TCU and losing Mizzou and A&M...

Did our strength of schedule in football get harder than the murder's row that it already is or easier? I have been reading a lot of the reports out there daily and it seems the Big 12 will stick with 10 until 2015 at which time the league will expand to at least 12. So we will see this round robin schedule for the next few years. I see TCU as less competition than an A&M. TCU has been to the Rose Bowl and won it, but their weekly competition is not been that of the Big 12. I think you will see them fall for a few years and it will make them easier competition for Iowa State as apposed to A&M. I think the same can be said about WV. I think at first with the increased level of competition they will struggle week in and week out. But I do believe they will thrive over time.

I think it's about even. It's really hard to compare competition levels, but perhaps easier? I still want 12 as soon as possible.

The thing about TCU is that now they have the one thing they were missing. I have no reason to think they will be any easier than aTm. Mizzou and WVU are a draw IMO

TCU and WVU have been better football programs than A&M and Mizzou over the past decade.

I don't really know how anyone can TRY to argue against it. The on-field results do all the talking.

Prolly won't happen soon. TX, OU and OSU don't want a Conference Championship game because it is one more chance to be beaten and thus lose potential shot at BCS or NC game. K-State, KU, ISU, etc all want divisions because it is easiest route for us to get to a BCS game. It will be tough to get a consensus on this issue.

Please note I did not mention MU because I don't give a crap what they think.

My gut says about even. WVU has had a lot of success over the past decade and have a lot of talent with an up and coming coach and TCU has a proven coach who will no doubt compete for better and better players .

Mizzou has been riding high and Pinkel has then improving as a whole team over the past few years. 40 wins in 4 years is nearly f'n unbelievable in Columbia. aTm seems to be getting better players over the past few years but I think Sherman has a little bit of Scott Drew in him in that he can't coach his super talented roster out of a paper bag.

They have accomplished more. But had an easier road. Missouri and A&M would have run roughshod over the Mt West and Big East, too.

Not doubt about it. These two will make our league even tougher, IMO.

The Big 12 Football schedule gets harder. Without a doubt in my mind.

Exactly. These schools now will have an easier time recruiting as a result. It is easier to sell recruits on playing Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma State, etc... every year then it was for them to sell recruits on playing pathetic Big East and Mountain West competition.

i don't think wvu will have that good of a time recruiting, as they will be similar to us-on a complete island from the rest of the conference. i do think tcu will take a jump up however.

I'm more impressed about what they've done outside of their conference play. WVU absolutely whipped Big 12 champ OU in 2007. TCU took it to the Big 10 last year.

A&M has been absolutely mediocre and in many of those seasons would not have run roughshod over the Big East. From 05-09, the Big East was actually pretty good and A&M was wallowing in mediocrity at that point in time. Mizzou's best year was 2007 and they got waxed by the same OU team WVU waxed.

What would A&M and Missouri have done in the MWC and Big East the last 10 years? My guess is they would have had the same success as WV and TCU so I think it is a push replacing Missouri and A&M with these 2.

They will be able to offer east coast kids an opportunity to compete against Texas and OU in a football crazy league in some of the nation's greatest stadiums against some of the nation's craziest fan base.

Their recruiting competition can offer the ACC and their half empty stadiums.
