    Direct TV and FOx

Just saw that DirectTV may turn off FX and all the fox sports channels on Nov 1st, unless DTV pays 40% more to Fox (aka the consumeer). Have an issue with that because FX is one of my favorite channels (Sons of Anarchy, Sunny, ect), plus the sports pak is basically just Fox Sports.

I guess i have no real point to my ramble except that i am not very happy! My bill is $130/mo, i don't think i really need to pay more to keep 1 of the 8 channels i actually watch.

Are you sure? This does not make sense...DirecTV, Fox, FX, FSNs, and Fox News all have common ownership...why would they do this to themselves?

that was my first thought, i thought Murdoch had ownership in both. i was scrolling through my channel guide last night and under FX, it had a message saying they are fighting to keep it.

I thought Rupert sold his ownership and fox no longer has ownership. I will be shocked if those get pulled, it would kill the sports pack!

    Re: Direct TV and FOx

I saw this last night too when flipping to Sunny. Not pleased if there is truth to the rumors as FX is one of my favorite channels as well. Not to mention that the Big 12 has a sports deal with Fox.

That being said if this goes down, I will have to put on my old guy hat and call to *****, a lot. They are in for it.

I was just about to switch from Cox to Direct TV, maybe I should hold out and see what happens with this.

If November 1 passes without a deal in place and the regional FSN's get pulled from DirecTV, you still will be able to get FSN programming on the regional Comcast Sports Net's as well as the regional Root Sports (Northwest, Rocky Mountain, and Pittsburgh) which are owned & operated by DirecTV.

Yeah this is BS, I thought Fox was a majority owner of DTV.

    Liberty Media owns DirecTV now.

Last year when Dish had their dispute with Fox, even though the Comcast and Root channels were still available, the FSN games were blacked out unless you lived in one of the regions that would get one of those channels without the sports pack. I would not be surprised if Fox did the same thing with DirecTV this year. They will close any loop holes.

One of my biggest complaints with mediacom was the ******* contest they had with sinclair every year. Now I switched to DTV, and this happens...

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

    Re: Direct TV and FOx

must be some truth to it, Dish is running specials for Direct TV subscribers that want to switch because of losing Fox programming. I was watching a game replay yesterday, and the Dish ad came on and said if you like watching this channel, if you have Direct TV, it won't be avail Nov 1 to you. Then they did a promo offer for DTV subscribers to switch to Dish.
