    Picture Disc Soundtrack Question

So my wife is getting into taking pictures for people and has the idea in her head that she wants to make a picture disc with a presentation set to music for her customers should they want them. I told her that music rights would be an issue if she was selling them. This is correct, yes? And if yes, how do you go about getting ability to add them?

If there is any profit made off of the music then yes, she will need a license.

I know that bars and restaurants need to obtain a license through ASCAP to play XM radio/music - I assume she would need something like that.

    Re: Picture Disc Soundtrack Question

The obvious answer is to have her use public domain music. She could put a delightful mix of songs like Go Down, Moses and Glow Worm on her presentations.

Oof, I was afraid of that. She may just have to use that junk, or sing it herself. I dont know if she will profit consistently enough to get good music legally.
