    Cyclone Sports Complex Update

New track to be named after former coach Bill Bergan.

Also, some renderings of what the finished product will look like. Looks good to me.

Personally I think it is pretty good money spent, having facilities like that for even the non-revenue sports goes a long way into the image of Iowa State Athletics.

    Re: Cyclone Sports Complex Update

All of the above. I've been here about six years and I still haven't seen the track because it's in such an isolated area. A lot of easier to find just off Mortenson. Plus it has a lot better parking lot (though it's probably fuller than in the past). Improving the facilities for all sports is a plus in my mind since most have been updated in 30+ years...

This will be a huge improvement over what we have now. Also it will give more room for ISU rec as they will take over the old Southwest Complex. Overall I think it is a very good move by the University

So is soccer moving out there? What are they doing with the old soccer field?

Yes, soccer is moving out there. Moving women's soccer out of their current location (which is in a flood plain) was cited as one of the top priorities for this project. Not sure what they will do with the current soccer field, but I'd imagine, since flooding was a concern, they will just use it as recreational green space, like the rest of the area.

    Re: Cyclone Sports Complex Update

Oh yea, totally forgot the current field is in a flood plain. The new soccer facility should be nice. It'd be sweet if we had men's soccer.
