    Anyone else?

    Off and on for three weeks is unbelievably annoying, especially when they told us that they would need to come out to fix something as it showed an error there but we would have to wait up to a week. They then called when they could come out and said everything looked fine. Well, everything is NOT FINE......

    They tried charging us $96 dollars for installation of internet and cable, after they initially told us that they would be charging us $30. And they also added on some goofy Starz package that we didn't want and won't be using--for another ungodly fee. Pretty annoying. Hopefully Century Link can compare for prices sometime in the near future, as that's probably the next route for next school year.

    Just a little update after a phone call, they said to disconnect everything from the internet and then reconnect it all and try to get on some speed.net site or something like that. Problem was, we couldn't stay connected long enough to even get to that site. We got a free week and they also offered that little box with all the extra channels for $7.95 a month instead of $19.95 which we don't want and don't need. Luckily it has not been this bad all month but we're still 6 days short of it being a month of having tese problems and they have already come out once and told us everything was fine. They said they'd be here by Friday...

    I hear ya. We had an issue in our house with mediacom specially regarding the internet. Their customer service is horrible and we had several visits from techs where they basically did nothing to fix the problem. Things are fine for now with emphasis on the NOW part.

    Well, I'll be on my second on Friday. First was nothing for sure. It's like hit and miss with my posts on here, I have to copy them all then keep trying until I get them to go through. What I really want is to play some LoL online right now but I can't stay connected long enough to get in the lobby.

    Starzs is like $4 a month, if thats ungodly you don't need cable. I have had very few problems with MediaCom and their service dept has been awesome. Now dish thats another issue.

    they are pricy, but we have no issues at all. had a cable box go bad last week, but that happens. internet, phone, and cable work great

    It sounds like a cabling issue. Bad signal. Those can be tough. Could be moisture, temp, bad grounding, to many splitters, cheap inside cabling, or even neighbors with be cable/equipment. Not much you can do other than keep on Mediacom. If you notice any patterns as to time of day or weather you can try to get Mediacom there at the same time.

    This was the case at my place. I live in a condo complex with 24 total units and our modem had intermittent signal loss over the span of a week - it would work for 20 minutes, and then be down for 2 hours. Mediacom came out and they found a whole bunch of issues: coax had signs of rust on the F connector, F connector was barely terminated on the tap, too many lines were going into the tap (sounds like someone in the building was stealing cable). The Mediacom tech moved the coax to a different tap and replaced the F connector, but he had to bring out his supervisor the next day because another cable company (ICS) had screwed up a ton of the wiring to the other units.

    I've had little issues with my internet (thats the only service I have with them), the problem I have is with their constant calling, despite me telling them that I am only interested in their internet services and to please stop calling me. Yet they keep calling and asking if I would like to try their awesome deals on home phone and tv.

    Signup for a google voice account and number. Then go to their customer service office and change your contact number with them (and another company that bugs you). Works great.
