    Pat Knight controversy

Interesting article on CW's favorite ex-Big 12 coach. I kind of agree with what Pat's saying, but that does seem like a pretty clear-cut rule. Both him and Bob should have known better.

Bob Knight made illegal calls to two Lamar Cardinals recruits, according to report - ESPN

Is Bob a donor? Does he have season tickets?
    Then whats the problem?

It's crap like this that NCAA sends violations for, yet Scam Newton's dad admitted to shopping him and they cannot find evidence and I wont even go into the whole Ohio State players being allowed to play in a bowl game...

I agree with the sentiment that the NCAA probably has bigger fish to fry, but it does seem like the rules are pretty clear that only the official basketball coaching staff, university officials, or academic advisors should be involved with recruiting calls. It's like when everyone got up in arms about Harrison Barnes "randomly" running into MJ on his UNC visit. It's kind of dumb, but at the same time between a current division 1 coach and a retired long-time division 1 coach, you're telling me that neither one of them realized that might be breaking the rules? Give me a break.
