    Oct 22, Oct 23, Oct 24 ...

I think this Saturday's win could be monumental in terms of keeping the coaching staff together and giving them a little more time to bring some success to Ames. Last year's win at Texas and the win at Nebraska the year before were just as monumental. Its amazing how all of these three games happen to be Oct 22 (Texas A&M '11), Oct 23 (Texas '10) and Oct 24 (Nebraska '09).

If we can keep the trend going and beat A&M this Saturday, the next two wins become more and more probable and we will bring a smile to CPR's face who's aim has been to go to a bowl game at the end of each year's campaign.

I am ready for an upset folks, what do you all think?

I'm always ready for a win! I have the fault of being the guy that no matter how bad we are and how good the opponent is, I always feel there is a chance we can win, always hopefuly and ready to cheer!

We would like to see more enthusiasm from the players on the field. Emulate Leonard, players. It will get the crowd more lively. We need a complete game for the first time this year. We need a win not to be the laughing stock of the league since KU is getting better.

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

    Re: Oct 22, Oct 23, Oct 24 ...

I keep hearing about the 3 big "signature wins". Win #1 was due to +8 in the turnovers if I remember correctly. We were lucky to beat a good team. Win #2 was over a Texas 5-7 team, not a good team. Win #3 over Iowa, not a great team this year.

My point is 2 of the wins weren't really against top tier competition and the other was a fluke. I just wish we would have beat Nebraska last year. To me that game was a bigger accomplishment then any of the 3 "signature" wins. We were truley competitive against a good team without needing them to play a terrible game. That would have been a signature win in my book.

It was grat to get the other 3 and end the Texas streak, but I want to beat someone we shouldn't. I don't think it will be this weekend, but we can always hope.

Dude, the 2011 Cyclones will be lucky to generate those turnovers. Almost all of those turnovers were forced!

Anytime you play a Texas team at Austin - I don't care if they are 5-7 or 11-1, that's a signature win considering that was our first win at Texas. Winning Iowa in 3OT is just pure drama and the calling it monumental has less to do with how bad both of these teams are. Its a big win because its a thriller, the first win vs Iowa in a long time, the first win over Iowa led by CPR and a total team effort.

Given our record on the road, we shouldnt beat Texas or Nebraska. Ranking means nothing when it comes to playing at Nebraska or at Texas. We are the little people in our head. Unless we become relevant, these games are almost always predicted as a loss for ISU.

I think there is a very good chance we may see some staffing changes if we continue to loss games in a blowout fashion. If we lose the Kansas game, we WILL see some major change.

That's a lot of assumptions to lead you to that conclusion.

Its a valid assumption that we will lose more blowout games.

Its a valid assumption that we may see some changes in our coaching staff considering we are out of the game before the half time.

Its also a valid assumption that Paul Rhoads likes to make money to live which is why he will do whatever it takes to win games. You can only do so much conditioning the athletes before the season starts, his earnings+savings+pension+benefits+longevity at Iowa State directly depends on the working people under him who help him run the system and help put together a game plan against teams we play. If he fails to keep or hire the best guys to build Cyclone football, he might follow Danny boy in a hurry.
