    Ames Taxi/Transportation services....

Seriously why do the options in Ames suck so bad? As a 28 year old Alum coming to Ames for HC, getting from the hotel's to Campus town is just awful as many of you prob know. It's seemingly impossible to get a ride from Ames Taxi home without waiting hours. There must be better options....no?

Ames doesn't have the population to demand a great taxi service. Half of the town is focused in a tiny area and a business model needing to capitalize on 6 or 7 weekends a year is a little bit risky.

How many cities Ames size have any taxi cabs at all? Very few. I've never used "CyCab" or whatever it's called, but I've always thought Ames was fortunate to have that service at all. Ames is really a town of about 25,000 people.

FWIW...We had to call a cab about 2-3 hours a head of time on a normal Saturday night when the students were not in town at Lawerence this year.

ha! Cyride. Only poor people use public transportation.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.
