    Big 12 offenses

    OSU 49.2 #2 nationally
    OU 45.3 #6
    Bay 44.3 #7
    TT 43.8 #9
    A&M 41.7 #11
    Mizz 35.5 #26
    KU 31.7 #40
    UT 30.0 #54
    KSU 29.3 #58

ISU averages 24.2 (20.8 without Iowa OT) and ranks 84th nationally.

We have scored 30+ in Big 12 play 2 times in CPR era.

Hopefully this thing turns around. We need some dramatic improvements at skill positions on offense. We have some nice ones for ISU standards, but I dont think we have put a RB/WR into the NFL draft in quite some time.

    Re: Big 12 offenses

Some great offenses in the Big 12, led by some great quarterbacks. There's also some weak defenses (I'm looking at you KU, Baylor, A&M) I'll give ISU defense the benefit of doubt due to the turnovers and general offensive ineptitude. I don't think it's a stretch to say that if a team doesn't score 30 points, they're not likely to win a game in the Big 12 this year.

    Re: Big 12 offenses

love what Herman's doing, love the direction we're going in

We've basically got Reynolds and White and that's it..Franklin is the biggest loss in last years class as if Arnaud had a guy he could count on to make the big play..would be nice to have a tight end that could get us easy completions and stretch the defense that much farther.

Wide outs are better and running backs a little worse...QB play is also a little worse...with lots of new skill positions it's no wonder we are where we are at but we still need to produce more and show more improvement...seems like we've stalled in the improving department

We have the worst QB play in the conference, I don't think its any coincidence that we score the least amount of points.

i'd also be curious in TOP of each team in the conference average as well...ESPN doesn't have the time of each drive on there when I checked after the Mizzou game

    Re: Big 12 offenses

It's sad that apparently we can't replace our guys from last year considering none of them were drafted.

Agreed. If we dont score 30+ in a miracle.. we dont win again this year... (minus maybe KU)

    Re: Big 12 offenses

The RB position seems like the only area where we are bringing in adequate Big 12 talent. The QB spot is getting there but it's very young. The receiver spot is a giant concern going forward. If you're going to run a spread offense you better always have 4-5 capable receivers. We currently have 1 (Money), maybe 2(Lenz).

The offensive line is very young outside KO and Hicks.

Herman will get another year for sure, probably two IMO. At this point I don't care either way. I see the benefit of keeping him but I wouldn't shed tears if he was let go the Monday after the K-State game.
