    ISU and LSU uniforms

I just did a search for LSU and came up with nothing. Am I the first to notice that our uniforms and LSU's look much the same? Maybe it is a rather common design, but watching a game the other night, I noticed the similarity.

    I've noticed the same thing.

Also, we don't look like USC. We look better.

    Re: ISU and LSU uniforms

Yes they are similar in that they both use helmets, shoulder pads, shirts, pants, and shoes. I think we share this commonality with some other teams too. Beyond that, outside of USC, I think the similarities are a bit distant.

Actually, it was watching the USC game tonight that reminded me of seeing the LSU uniforms recently. Apart from the colors (oh, and the helmets, shoulder pads, shirts, pants, and shoes), I was thinking that our uniforms don't look as much like the USC uniforms as I often hear.

Almost every traditional uniform out there is going to look like some other uniform. If you want unique you have to go the way of maryland...no thanks.

The only thing the same is the stripe on the shoulder pads.

I thought there was some controversy that Maryland's uniforms were similar to those of a roller derby team, so even they weren't really unique. And I agree - no thanks.

It's an established design. They're called UCLA stripes after the team that started them. Our unis are similar to the Colts as well. The reason it's a common design is because it looks good.

Do you think Iowa's unis look like KSU's? Or the Packers? Or Florida's? Because LSU's and Iowa State's are about as similar as Iowa's is to any of those. As in not very.

I think ISU's current look is in some ways a combo of LSU & USC. The school colors obviously make the USC comparison easier to make. Red helmet w/ no stripe/gold pants closer to USC. Shoulder and pants piping more similar to LSU actually the Earle Bruce era road unis (throwback '07 vs. Iowa) unis are Very close to LSU. *

Attached combines current w/ ISU '70s -- ISU's current classic design makes it seem close, but some specific differences overall.
