So you are saying we are short and stout?

Yup. but remember that Tavon and Aaron Law bring that down. Both are short, but neither are scrawny. As I was browsing through rosters, I noticed that even at the guard position, we are a built team - think Allen, McGee, Babb, etc.

K State is possibly heavier than they will play, as they bring in a frosh who tips the scale at 275. Not sure how much of the floor he will see.

    A couple other take-aways:

Texas is extremely young, inexperienced, and not especially tall.

KU is skinny. After Withey and Robinson (both in the 230 range) they aren't big. They also lost a lot of scoring in the Morris twins, Morningstar, Selby, Reed. I expect a starting lineup of Withey, Robinson, Releford, Taylor, and either Johnson or McLemore. I know that KU is KU, but I don't see the depth they've had in the past

A&M is tall, experienced, talented, and deep.

Oklahoma returns a lot in terms of minutes and points, but take a look at their roster - nobody really stands out.

    Re: Big 12 Team Metrics

Sorry but those stats are meaningless. All it shows is that we lost pretty much everybody so our returning scoring is low but we made up for the loss by getting transfers. Duh, we already knew that. And our team is made up of a bunch of tweeners 6-3 to about 6-6. Duh we already knew that too. All the transfers (except Royce) enter the program as 3rd year juniors (because of rs from transfer) or seniors. So, what we are saying is that 20-21 year olds are stockier than 18-19 year olds. And then there is Royce who is a monster at 270.

    Correct, for ISU.

Relax Francis, they're metrics - take them for what they're worth... which is more to inform about the rest of the league, than about ISU. But I guess you only looked at ISU.

    Re: Big 12 Team Metrics

After yesterday's miserable performance I need to focus on bball. Here are some more interesting conference stats.

    Last year ISU finished:

    4th in scoring off
    2nd in FT %
    7th in 3pt FG%
and a surprising 5th in reb.

How did this team end up last with a 3-15 record?

    ISU was also:

    12th in Scoring Def
    11th in 3pt FG % Def
    11th in reb margin

It looks like even though offense and rebounding weren't a problem last year the team couldn't stop the other team from scoring or rebounding. I think the key this year won't be how well the team scores but if they can be tough and play defense and KEEP the other team off the boards.
