I really hope someone steps up as PG. Im sure the guys will do alright, but an exceptional PG stepping up could make this team another level better.

I would love to see Royce bringing the ball up occasionally. It would be great to see that 7' Kansas galloot trying to guard him. I used to love watching KG play point forward when the Wolves were having pg injury problems.

That being said, PG concerns are what gives me the most pause about expecting too much from this team. If a couple of guys can demonstrate that they are as solid as Kantrail Horton as a combo guard, I will be ecstatic.

I think McGee is going to be a lot better than I originally thought. He's a BIG body for the point and has good handles. He shouldn't have a problem with pressure.

McGee, Allen, and Christophers0n are all combo guards. Put all three on the floor, with Royce and Ejim in the post, and getting the ball up the floor will not be a problem. Put those five on the floor and we can play with anybody. Booker, Babb, and Bubu (the Killer B's) off the bench. Sledge and Gibson to play more as the season progresses.

Re: NOTEBOOK: Point guard by committee

This is actually the aspect of our team that concerns me the most. If you look back over the years, all of the great teams had one thing in common....great point guards.

I'm afraid that it might be a little like the cliche in college football when a team tries to go with the QB by committee approach......"if you have two quaterbacks, that really means you don't have any!"

I sure hope that as the year progresses, we have someone emerge as a strong PG and "floor general"

Bubu is our best point guard at this point.

I think the decision to not recruit the best true PG from JUCO last year is looming larger and larger. I love McGhee and what he brings to the table but it seems pretty clear to that solid a pass-first PG may have complemented the other talent better.

Or, maybe McGhee didn't make the transition. Either way, we have a glaring deficiency that can't be ignored.

The pickup of Naz Long and dropping of Webster-Chan I see as a move to correct this for the future. I'm almost willing to say throw Long into the fire at the break if he's anywhere close to being ready. I've seen enough through seven games to make me believe that the conference is going to exploit this.

We need to get Naz on the floor for the Texas game to see what he is made of.

As long as Royce is not on that committee, fine.
