    Problems with Google/iGoogle

    Has anyone ever had problems when if you click the search result from google, it doesn't go to the desired website but to another search engine ?

    These situations have happened quite regularly in the last 4-5 days and I just wonder what has been going on.

    Yup, run an anti-virus program on it, and you should be fine. Had this happen to my work computer earlier this year.

    I have Miscrosoft Security Essentials but apparently that's not enough.
    I am tempted to buy Malwarebytes (the pay version). Anyone has experience with it ?

    Use the free Malwarebytes. I can't remember any actual benefits of the paid version.

    I have malwerebybtes as well as AVG and I had the same issue last week. I did a system restore to a week earlier and it fixed my problem.

    Scanned it using malwarebytes and found that several files were infected and the registry values were infected too.
    This is the log from malwarebytes:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\DirectxUpdatePol icy (Trojan.SHarpro.PGen) -> Value: DirectxUpdatePolicy -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Classes Update (Trojan.SHarpro.PGen) -> Value: Classes Update -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    I scanned it again twice and malwarebytes said that everything was clean. So I can assume that my computer is now virus free because these 2 registries are still in the Quarantine section (although MWB said they've been quarantined and deleted) ?

    I have it on mine and nobody has been able to remove it. Pain in the arse!

    Sometimes the ad servers on CF cause trouble.

    But I can't quit you, CF.

    My malware/spyware programs do not catch it. I have to do a system restore or a reboot in order to wipe it clean. PITA.
