Players not made available to media after Baylor game.

I have seen this mentioned a few times on Twitter, and both Miller and Deace and Murph and Andy have brought it up on their shows today. Anybody know why? Seems very un-ISU like.

I saw it in the espn article right after the game. Not sure why

Wouldn't surprise me if Rhoads has treated speaking to the media as a privilege and not a right and the team didn't earn it. He was pretty upset after the game and likely did not want the players saying something that could hurt the team (read: officiating).

I think this is the most probable explanation.

Re: Players not made available to media after Baylor game.

Miller and Deace speculated it is because they wanted to avoid all the "deliverance" red-neck zombies that come out at night in Waco. hahaha

Murph and Andy speculated it was because Rhoads and everyone was so furious at the dumb-**** refs who were mind-boggling bad.

I have never seen Rhoads as ****** as he was during his post game interview on Saturday. I watched it last night on CloneZone and wow.

Hard to blame him. That offsides call on the onside kick was so egregious that it made you wonder if something more sinister was going on.

I wish he would come out an address it because its not making ISU look good right now. The media who went to Waco have a right to be upset, their companies spent money and they spent time down there to cover the game...and weren't able to speak with the players.

I'm sure Rhoads has a reason because typically ISU is very media-friendly when it comes to access.

You hit it right on. When I saw the tweets after the game Saturday night, I was kind of shocked. It seems like a very un-Iowa State thing to do. The answers about officiating seem to be the best I can think of, but even then, they should always know not to say anything no matter what.

Out of curiosity, what members of media were there? I don't have a problem with it. The media needs to know that the coaches may or may not allow the media to talk to players. That's CPRs call and he felt that the team wasn't in form to speak publicly.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

The officiating of that game was a big deal. Access to the players was not.

********, what quotes are the players going to give the media that would add anything to their stories? Does a player ever say anything of any value after the game? Here, they could have just plugged this in:

"Yeah, we didn't execute, we made the kind of mistakes you can't afford against a good team like (insert opponent here) We'll just get back at it at practice next week and try to get better."

    Serious?!?!?!

If Rhoads doesn't want the players to address the media after a game thats his choice and he doesn't owe ANYONE an explanation why.

    Smart move.

Anyone with a fully functioning brain knows the game was rigged, but it does no good to have player quotes after the game talking about it. Well done CPR.
