    Jason Scales

3 games...little to no action on the field.

Rumors are he's dinged up yet after the first game, I think I recall in a presser, Chizik saying Scales was healthy.

What gives? Is he in fact not 100% healthy or just not on par with Bass/Robinson?

Related or unrelated to his knee?

    Re: Jason Scales

I feel sorry for the kid. He may well finish out a 4 year career as a hurt football player. At least he got his college paid for.

    Re: Jason Scales

Has he ever been healthy? I mean that as a legitimate question. Seems that since he got here he's been banged up and I feel really bad for the kid. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear he is injured. I would like to see him get a shot in 100% form.

Seems like the same thing was with Tony Yelk. He always seemed to be injured. Some kids just have bad luck.

    Re: Jason Scales

I just take it as a given that Scales is hurt until I actually see him on the field.

    Re: Jason Scales

Jason Scales will never be 100% healthy. He is prolly the healthiest he is going to get, but he will never be 100 percent, not with the kind of knee surgery he had. It is just amazing that he can still do anything, it was a pretty bad injury, I never thought he was going to start, the best I think we can hope is for him to be a third down back eventually, maybe, he still has a year after this, so we will see.

    Re: Jason Scales

It's sad to see it come to this as Jason was a very promising RB out of HS. I remember him just tearing it up when he was at Valley.

    Re: Jason Scales

I heard two years ago from someone with the team that he has an injury with his leg that will never completely leave him.

His former HS coach eluded to that as well when I talked to him a couple years ago at a coach's clinic.

Yet it seemed despite that, we'd see him on the field this year. Guys can have a knee that isn't great and still perform at a high level.

Jason's situation seems to be very unique. And, it looks like we have another one quite similar with Adam Carper.

A messed up knee is not a fun thing to deal with.

    Re: Jason Scales

Is it possible that it was damaged in high school from running the ball so much?

Would love to see him succeed at the college level, but as previously said, I think we just have to assume he's injured until we see him on the field.
