    Orlando-Sanford Airport via Allegiant

Question for anyone that's used Allegiant and flown in to Orlando-Sanford. Are there ANY options outside of a rental car for getting to Disney?

Found out the downside of the cheap airfare Allegiant offers. Great price but you got like zero options for hotel shuttles that go to that airport.

Any hints/advice from others who traveled there? Rental car is my main option at this point but I'm just checking for other options.

I have flown out of there but not into...there isn't much around the airport so I doubt it.

We called a few weeks ahead and got a van to drive us. It was cheaper than I thought it would be.

    Re: Orlando-Sanford Airport via Allegiant

We flew into that airport one year ago. The flight was about 1.5 hours late getting us in around midnight. The airport was all but completely shut down when we got there but the car rentals waited for us to arrive even though none of them had rentals reserved. We were able to get our rental a day early and were treated very fairly when there was an issue with our vehicle on the last day of our trip.

We did that also...I want to say it was like $25 for 2 of us and our baggage to go from Sanford to the Disney Resort we were staying at.

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

Thats not bad at all. The shuttle that goes from Orlando International to Disney is $35 per person. Plus, Orlando International is much closer so it should be cheaper.

If you're staying at a local disney hotel for the whole visit and don't need the car, don't waste money on a rental. Get a shuttle or limo. I did some searching and got a stretch limo round-trip for less than our family of 4 could ride the shuttle one way. Now Disney has free transport from ORD if you're staying on Disney property. You might want to check and see if they offer the same from Sanford.

    Re: Orlando-Sanford Airport via Allegiant

No disney provided shuttle service to Sanford, although there is a car rental (Enterprise maybe) on Disney property that you can rent a car from Sanford one-way and drive it to Disney, drop it at the rental place, and then get into the disney transportation system.

Hotwire is also a good bet, I rented a mid-size last year the week prior to Christmas for $13 a day from Sanford for 10 days. Was nice to not have to rely on Disney transportation the entire time and have that option available, although we could have gotten by without it minus the airport trip.

But they don't go to Sanford, just Orlando International.
