    Direct TV or Dish network?

I am thinking of switching to Direct TV or Dish network. We are currently using a local cable company and they offer lousy coverage of ISU games. Mediacom is not an option in our area. Does anyone have an opinion of which is better? Does one have more ISU games than the other? Which package would have the most ISU games? How about service and cost? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Direct TV or Dish network?

I moved from Dish to Mediacom. I've asked about Direct TV and the people who have it seem to love it. I liked Dish because I had one DVR that I could operate off two TV's. Mediacom said they could do this but got here and couldn't get it to work. I might try Direct TV when this promo s done?

Re: Direct TV or Dish network?

Used to be a loyal Dish subscriber. I thought it was a better value than DirecTV and I believe it was for a while. But Dish has since gone way downhill in my mind. They started dropping channels and a lot of channels that used to be HD no longer are (Disney) and I eventually reached the point where I said enough is enough, I'm going with DTV even if it is more expensive.

Re: Direct TV or Dish network?

Directv is definitely the better option for sports...and I say that having Dish myself.

But in the end tv coverage for Cyclone sports sucks anyway so I wouldn't make that my deciding factor.

Don't watch a lot of TV but would like to be able to see the away games that are televised so it's a big factor in my decision. Any thing else I watch would be on any carrier.

Had Dish, switched to DirecTV and LOVE IT...much better programming, better HD and customer service has been awesome with us. Dish seemed good when we had it but wow is there a difference!

Dish. Only thing lacking is NFL Sunday ticket, but we have red zone. The new blockbuster thing looks great. My favorite part of dish is my $100 sling box add on that streams my whole receiver and cvr to my iPad or my wife's iPhone. Which is great while she shops. Check your package deals closely between the two.

Cyclone sports are the same on either now that fox changed their formatting

    Dish.

I am a baseball guy, and without paying extra for a sports pack I can watch pretty much every White Sox, Cub, Brewer, Royal and cardinal game.

Re: Direct TV or Dish network?

Have had Dish for several years but tried to switch to Direct because of the free Sunday ticket. Direct couldn't touch my setup that I have with Direct (four TVs on two HD DVRs). Direct wanted an extra $100 just to install a second HD DVR. The Service Rep said " but you probably only watch most of your TV on two TVs anyway". I hung up on her. I couldn't believe it, what a ridiculous thing to say.

Direct. Went to Dish last year and already changed back to Direct.

Direct is the way to go...although i am thinking about dropping my service and going to over the air, and all the good streaming content over the interwebs.

No sure if im gonna do it though...i would miss a lot of football, thats my hangup.
