    Direct TV Question

I have Dish Network now but looking to change to Direct TV due to terrible customer service.

Question: Is it better to go through the website or a local dealer like Satellite City? Is it cheaper and is the customer service better to go local?

If You do it online they may give you a little more discounts. But installation may take a few days longer. I've done it both online with ease and able to easily pick what I want. I can give you my account number an we both get ten bucks off each month.

    Re:Direct TV Question

I went through a local contractor and regretted it tremendously. as someone else pointed out to me on this board,"you are just adding another potential layer of incompetence," ( by going thru a contractor) and that person was dead on!

That's a good idea. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet but if I do it I'll definitely ask you for it. Thanks.

    Re: Direct TV Question

If you have Centurylink phone service you can bundle with your phone bill for a discount. We are switching from dish to direct and is costing 40/month with DVR.

    Re: Direct TV Question

Don't do it. If you think DirecTV is going to be better than Dish for customer service, you're just looking at the luck of who you get on the phone line either way. How bad does customer service have to be to pay $10 - $40 more per month?

Now if that's just part of the reason why, then you know -- whatever you want.

May my postings be polite and not misunderstood. (And hopefully funny on occasion.)
